Xiakeman is a self-hosted workbench for making AI short dramas from a novel or script. You bring your own API keys for chat, image, video and speech models. It's source-available, not open source: commercial use needs written permission. Projects and keys stay in your browser, so export backups often.

   Install Node.js 20.19 or newer.

   Clone the repo: the command below then cd xiakeman-ai-short-drama.

   On Windows, double-click start.bat. The first run installs dependencies and opens http://localhost:8022.

   Or start it by hand: npm ci, npm ci --prefix bff, Copy-Item .env.example .env, npm run dev:bff.

   In a second terminal, run npm run dev.

   Open the app, click API Settings top right, and add your own chat, image, video and speech keys.
