Add video-editing skills to Codex CLI with this install entry. It gives the agent methods for cutting talking-head video, subtitles, visuals and export. The Runtime and Studio software it drives live in a separate repo. Public Runtime download is v0.4.11, too old for the new workbench skill.

What it does

  • Ships seven skills: cutting, subtitles, visuals, export, bug report, updates, workbench
  • Finds phrases, covers or removes visuals, deletes clips, and splits or trims segments
  • Pins the marketplace and plugin refs, then reads back source, commit and install status
  • Refuses to overwrite an install with the same name or an unknown source
  • Leaves Runtime setup to a separate step; it doesn't prepare or start it
  • Stops and reports when the Runtime lacks the workbench capability it needs

    Install Node.js 18+, Git, and a logged-in Codex CLI that supports the codex plugin command.

    Review the pinned source at the fixed commit, then run the command below.
    node bin/install.cjs install --dry-run
  3. 3
    Run node bin/install.cjs install to install the plugin.
  4. 4
    Run node bin/install.cjs doctor to check the install.
  5. 5
    Prepare the matching Runtime (v0.4.11) using references/runtime-and-product-contract.md and scripts/ensure-runtime.cjs.

    Reopen your sessions so new tasks can find the skills.
