Benny chases the runaway cake

ComedyTracking

Tracking shot, 9:16 vertical. The camera runs alongside a 27-year-old food-truck owner with curly hair and a mustard-stained apron as he sprints after a three-tier wedding cake rolling away on a wheeled cart down a garden path, arms flailing. Guests in formal wear leap aside. Bright midday sun, saturated colors, comedic energy. Audio: cart wheels rattling, gasps, one short scream.

Negative: cake explosion, extra limbs, distorted faces, slow motion, text

Settings: Kling 3.0 Standard (720p), text-to-video, 9:16, 5s, audio on

Physical comedy is where Kling's physics can break. So describe the chase, not the crash. Cut away before the cart hits anything and add the crash sound in the edit.

The venue, three hours before chaos

ComedyEstablishing

Establishing shot, 9:16. A slow tilt down from a cloudless sky to a rustic barn wedding venue with string lights, white chairs in neat rows and a flower arch, and a dented yellow food truck parked crookedly right in front of the altar. A goat wanders between the chairs. Bright, cheerful daylight. Audio: birds, a goat bleating, a generator sputtering.

Negative: people in foreground, text, signs, logos, blur, distorted chairs

Settings: Kling 3.0 Standard (720p), text-to-video, 9:16, 5s, audio on

A good comedy opening shot plants the problem: the truck is parked right where it shouldn't be. Kling's guide says it doesn't handle numbers well. So 'neat rows of chairs' works better than a count.

Mustard meets the clipboard

ComedyInsert

Insert shot, close-up, 9:16. A clipboard with a rainbow of colored tabs, held tightly in a woman's hands. A blob of mustard drips onto the top page. Her thumb trembles. The pen in her other hand snaps in half. Bright daylight, shallow focus, playful framing. Audio: a wet plop, a sharp crack, a tiny horrified gasp.

Negative: faces, readable text, extra fingers, blur, low quality

Settings: Kling 3.0 Pro (1080p), text-to-video, 9:16, 5s, audio on

In an object close-up, sound is half the joke. Kling's audio times the plop and the snap to the picture. That saves you hunting for sound effects.

Priya's polite smile cracks

ComedyClose-up

Close-up, 9:16. Start frame: a 26-year-old wedding planner with a headset and a color-coded clipboard, standing outdoors at a wedding venue. She holds a professional smile while someone off-screen rambles. The smile stays fixed but her left eye starts to twitch, and she says through her teeth, very calmly: "That's fine. Everything is fine." Bright daylight, string lights blurred behind. Audio: muffled off-screen rambling, a goat bleat.

Negative: screaming, crying, face morphing, hair change, extra people, text

Settings: Kling 3.0 Pro (1080p), image-to-video from a 9:16 start frame, 5s, audio on

Kling's tiny facial movements make a twitching-eye gag possible without an actor. Writing how she says it ('through her teeth, very calmly') shapes the voice.

The food truck wedding, full beat

ComedyMedium

@Element1 is Benny. @Element2 is Priya. A barn wedding venue at golden hour, guests seated. Shot 1 (3s): Medium shot of @Element2 marching up to the food truck window with her clipboard. She says: "You're parked on the aisle." Shot 2 (3s): Medium shot of @Element1 leaning out of the window, grinning, holding a taco. He says: "Then the bride gets tacos." Shot 3 (2s): Close-up of @Element2, one eye twitching. Shot 4 (3s): Wide shot as the truck's engine coughs and a cloud of black smoke rolls over the front row of guests. Shot 5 (3s): Medium two-shot, both covered in soot, staring at each other in silence. Warm golden light, saturated colors, clear comic pauses. Audio: engine sputter, coughing guests, then silence. No music.

Settings: Kling 3.0 Omni Pro (1080p), reference-to-video with 2 character elements, 9:16, 14s, audio on, custom multi-shot (5 shots)

Comedy needs pauses, and custom shot lengths give you that control: the 2-second twitch, the silent last beat. Both lines land in the first 6 seconds. The payoff is all visual.
