About DirectorSKILL

DirectorSKILL is a Claude Code skill that turns a script into a full shot plan. Feed it a script, prose, or one keyframe. It runs 13 steps and offers 10 output modes. You get prompts and docs only, with no code to run.

Best for: AI filmmakers and short-drama creators on Claude Code who want shot planning and a repair loop, rather than prompt text.

What it does

  • Runs a 13-step pipeline from script to shot list, prompts, sound and QC
  • Gives you 10 output modes (A–J), from beat sheet to continuity bible
  • Adds one of 20 director lenses, like Wong Kar-wai or Kubrick
  • Reshapes prompts into 4 shapes for different video and image models
  • Diagnoses bad clips with 19 coded failures (F1–F19) and a cost ladder
  • Ships 8 fill-in templates with worked examples

Quickstart

Rewritten from the README. Check the repo for the latest steps.

  1. 1
Clone the skill into your user-level folder: the command below
    git clone https://github.com/wuwangzhang1216/DirectorSKILL.git ~/.claude/skills/cinematic-director
  2. 2
Or install it for one project: the command below
    git clone https://github.com/wuwangzhang1216/DirectorSKILL.git .claude/skills/cinematic-director
  3. 3
Reload Claude Code (or your host agent) so it picks up the skill.
  4. 4
Ask for a plan, e.g. turn a scene into a 4-shot AI video plan for Runway in 16:9.
  5. 5
Name a director to apply a style overlay, or paste a failed prompt to run the repair tree.
  6. 6
Update in place with the command below.
    cd ~/.claude/skills/cinematic-director && git pull
