Kling prompts: Thriller

5 Kling prompts for thriller scenes. Swap in your own character names and keep the camera language.

The photo in the motel drawer

ThrillerInsert

Insert shot, close-up, 9:16. A gloved hand slides open a cheap motel nightstand drawer under a flickering lamp. Inside lies an instant photo of a woman in an olive raincoat, her face scratched out with a pen. The hand freezes. Harsh tungsten light, dust in the air, deep shadows. Audio: a buzzing lamp, rain outside, the drawer scraping.

Negative: clear face in photo, extra fingers, text, logos, blur

Settings: Kling 3.0 Pro (1080p), text-to-video, 9:16, 5s, audio on

A clean object close-up like this makes a strong end to an episode. One object, one hand, one reveal, so there's nothing for Kling to clutter.

A voice on the line knows her name

ThrillerClose-up

Close-up, 9:16. Start frame: a 34-year-old detective with short black hair, an olive raincoat and tired eyes, holding a phone to her ear in a dark parked car. A distorted voice on the line says: "You're looking in the wrong town, Nora." Her face goes still; only her eyes move to the rearview mirror. Rain streams down the windshield and passing headlights sweep across her face. Audio: rain on the roof, phone static.

Negative: her mouth moving, smiling, face morphing, hair change, text, subtitles

Settings: Kling 3.0 Pro (1080p), image-to-video from a 9:16 start frame, 5s, audio on

The line comes from a voice on the phone. So the negative keeps her mouth closed and Kling won't lip sync the wrong person. Light moving across a still face does more than big acting would.

Interrogation in five shots

ThrillerMedium

@Element1 is Detective Quinn. @Element2 is Eli, the suspect. A small interrogation room with one bare bulb, a metal table and a two-way mirror. Shot 1 (3s): Medium two-shot from the side. @Element1 drops a plastic evidence bag on the table between them. Shot 2 (3s): Close-up of @Element2, who doesn't look at the bag. He says softly: "I wasn't there." Shot 3 (3s): Close-up of @Element1 leaning in. She says: "Your glasses were." Shot 4 (3s): Insert of the evidence bag: a pair of wire-rimmed glasses with one cracked lens. Shot 5 (3s): Medium shot of @Element2 slowly taking off the glasses he's wearing and setting them beside the bag. An identical pair. Hard overhead light, green-gray tones, deep shadows under the eyes. Audio: a buzzing bulb, a chair creak. No music, no background characters.

Settings: Kling 3.0 Omni Pro (1080p), reference-to-video with 2 character elements, 9:16, 15s, audio on, custom multi-shot (5 × 3s)

Both lines sit in shots 2 and 3, the safest window for lip sync. The twist lands silently on an object close-up and an action. Tagging Elements in every shot stops the two faces from swapping.

Lighthouse stairs, one take

ThrillerWide

A 15-second continuous take at night inside an old lighthouse on a rain-soaked coast. [00:00–00:04] Wide shot from the bottom of a spiral iron staircase looking up. A 34-year-old detective with short black hair, an olive raincoat and tired eyes climbs fast, her flashlight beam bouncing off the walls. [00:04–00:08] The camera rises with her through the center of the spiral. A door bangs somewhere above. She stops and calls out: "Eli? I know you're here." [00:08–00:12] She reaches the top landing. The lamp room is empty except for a gray cardigan draped over the railing, wet with rain. [00:12–00:15] Slow push-in on the cardigan as the lighthouse beam sweeps across it. Her flashlight shakes. Cold blue moonlight, a sweeping white beam, heavy rain. Audio: howling wind, footsteps on iron, waves crashing below.

Negative: cuts, extra people, warped stairs, face morphing, text, subtitles

Settings: Kling 3.0 Pro (1080p), text-to-video, 9:16, 15s, audio on, multi-shot off (single take)

Timecoded beats are a format Kling's own creative partners use for long single takes. Her only line lands at 4–8 seconds. The last 7 seconds are pure action, where 15-second Kling clips hold up best.

Watching through the motel blinds

ThrillerOver-the-shoulder

Over-the-shoulder shot, 9:16. From behind a soft-spoken 31-year-old man with wire-rimmed glasses and a gray cardigan, peering through bent motel blinds at night. In the parking lot below, in soft focus, a woman in an olive raincoat gets out of a car and looks straight up at his window. He lets the blind snap shut. Red neon sign glow, rain, wet asphalt reflections. Audio: neon buzz, rain, the blind clattering.

Negative: his face visible, extra people, distorted blinds, text on sign, blur

Settings: Kling 3.0 Pro (1080p), text-to-video, 9:16, 5s, audio on

His face stays out of frame, so you can shoot this before his Element is final. 'Text on sign' in the negative stops Kling from printing a motel name you'd have to blur.
