Use this template for a hidden-heiress story where the snob doesn't know who he's talking to. Sophie Lane pours coffee at Rosie's, a 24-hour diner off Route 9. Ethan Cross, a hotshot investor, eats breakfast there every day.
His firm is about to buy the diner's parent chain and close half its locations. He tips Sophie with a lecture about ambition.
What he doesn't know: her real name is Sophie Lancaster. The Lancaster Group is the money behind his deal, and it doesn't close without her signature.
The twist on the usual formula: Sophie isn't hiding from her family. She's checking the deal from behind the counter, the homework nobody else bothered to do. The people working beside her are the ones who'll lose their jobs.
What viewers expect from a hidden-heiress drama
- The gap between how she's treated and who she is. Viewers know the truth, and the snob doesn't. Every scene plays on that gap.
- The slow-burn reveal. Viewers want the reveal badly, so make them wait. Pay off small pieces along the way, like a phone call in another language or a watch worth more than the diner.
- Allies at the bottom. The cook, the night manager, the regular who's been coming for 30 years. The heiress is defined by who she protects.
- Clichés worth twisting: twenty episodes of humiliation, then one big slap-back. Sophie talks back from Episode 1, so the reveal doesn't have to carry all the payoff. When it comes, it's about the deal, not about winning an argument.
Series structure at a glance
Aim for episodes of 60–90 seconds. Reveal stories need a steady drip: one new clue about Sophie every three or four episodes, so bingers feel the reveal coming.
The table maps each block of episodes. The "Ends on" column is your list of big cliffhangers (the hooks that make people tap "next").
| Block | Episodes | What happens | Ends on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hook | 1–3 | Ethan's $100 tip; Sophie's sharp answer; her father's text | Ethan's deal needs a Lancaster signature |
| Escalation | 4–9 | Sophie digs into the chain's books from the diner office; Ethan pushes the closures | Ethan spots her reading the acquisition file |
| Paywall beat | 10 | He reports her to the manager as a corporate spy. She's fired from the diner | She walks out and into a black car |
| Double life | 11–35 | Sophie as heiress in boardrooms, waitress at night; Ethan sees her at a gala and can't place her | Ethan realizes the waitress and the heiress are the same person |
| Midpoint reversal | 36–45 | Ethan knows, and doesn't tell her. He starts testing whether she's real | Sophie finds out he's known for weeks |
| Deal war | 46–70 | Her father sides with Ethan; a rival bidder targets the diner staff's pensions | Rosie's pension fund is gone |
| Dark moment | 71–80 | Sophie loses the board vote and her title in the company | Ethan resigns from his own firm |
| Finale | 81–90 | Sophie and Ethan buy the chain together with the staff as partners | Breakfast at Rosie's, Ethan waiting tables |
Episode 10 is the paywall beat, where many apps start charging. The black car is the moment viewers have to pay to follow her into.
Beat sheet
The beat sheet is the story in order, one moment per line.
- Ep 1 Ethan drops a $100 bill into her coffee pot. Sophie talks back. Then the text from her father.
- Ep 2 Sophie sweetly asks Ethan how many diners his deal will close. He's surprised a waitress knows the number.
- Ep 3 Night shift. Sophie on the phone in fluent business-speak, then in Italian. Marco, the cook, overhears.
- Ep 4–6 She photographs the chain's books in the back office. The numbers are cooked to make the chain look worse.
- Ep 7–9 Ethan comes in at closing and finds her with the acquisition file.
- Ep 10 (paywall beat) Fired in front of the whole diner. She walks outside to a waiting black car. The driver opens the door: "Ms. Lancaster."
- Ep 11–20 Boardrooms by day, the diner at night (Rosie quietly rehires her). Ethan meets "Ms. Lancaster" at a dim gala.
- Ep 21–35 Clues pile up: the same laugh, the same scar on her thumb. Ethan connects them.
- Ep 36–45 He doesn't confront her. Instead he asks the waitress what the heiress should do.
- Ep 46–55 Sophie finds his notes. Fury first, then a grudging team-up against her own father.
- Ep 56–70 The rival bidder raids the staff pension fund through a shell company.
- Ep 71–80 Board vote lost. Sophie is removed. Ethan quits his firm in the same hour.
- Ep 81–90 They raise money from the diner regulars and the staff. Rosie becomes CEO. Ethan learns to carry four plates.

EPISODE 1 - "KEEP THE CHANGE"
[0:00–0:03 HOOK]
INT. ROSIE'S DINER - COUNTER - MORNING
A crisp $100 bill drops into a full glass coffee pot. It
floats.
ETHAN (O.S.)
Keep the change. And your opinions.
[0:03–0:30]
SOPHIE LANE (25, honey-blond messy bun, yellow waitress
uniform) looks at the pot, then at ETHAN CROSS (30, camel
overcoat, laptop open next to his eggs).
SOPHIE
You just wrecked a full pot of coffee.
To make a point.
ETHAN
I just paid for a full pot of coffee.
To make a point.
SOPHIE
Which is?
ETHAN
You called my deal "lazy math."
You pour coffee. I close deals.
[0:30–1:00]
Sophie fishes the bill out with a fork and lays it, dripping,
on his laptop keyboard.
SOPHIE
Your deal closes 41 locations.
This one too. Here's the lazy part.
You only looked at the ones
losing money in winter.
Ethan stops chewing. MARCO (50s, the cook) leans out of the
kitchen window to watch.
ETHAN
Where'd you get 41?
SOPHIE
I can count chairs, Mr. Cross.
Refill?
[1:00–1:15]
She walks away. Ethan stares after her. Then at his screen,
where the number 41 is highlighted in red.
INT. ROSIE'S DINER - BACK HALLWAY - MOMENTS LATER
Sophie leans against the wall, breathing out. Her phone
buzzes inside her apron pocket.
[1:15–1:30 CLIFFHANGER]
INSERT - PHONE SCREEN
DAD: "Cross Capital wants our money by Friday.
Your signature or no deal. Stop playing waitress."
Sophie looks through the round window in the kitchen door.
Ethan is on the phone, laughing, pointing at the diner around
him like it's already his.
SOPHIE
(quiet)
Friday.
SMASH CUT TO BLACK.
Adapting it to AI video
Plan on about 12 generations (one generation = one clip the model makes). The diner is the main location for most of the series, and that's a gift. Get one great reference image of the counter and booths, and you can reuse it for dozens of episodes.
Use the table as your shot list. "Try" is the model we'd start with for each shot.
| # | Shot | Length | What happens | Dialogue | Try |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | insert | 3s | $100 bill drops into a full coffee pot | yes (O.S.) | Hailuo |
| 2 | over-the-shoulder | 6s | Over Ethan's shoulder: Sophie looks at the pot | yes | Seedance |
| 3 | medium | 8s | The "lazy math" exchange across the counter | yes | Veo |
| 4 | insert | 3s | She lays the wet bill on his keyboard | no | Wan |
| 5 | close-up | 7s | Sophie: "41 locations. This one too." | yes | Seedance |
| 6 | medium | 3s | Marco leans out of the kitchen window | no | Kling |
| 7 | close-up | 4s | Ethan: "Where'd you get 41?" | yes | Veo |
| 8 | insert | 3s | His laptop, 41 highlighted in red | no | Wan |
| 9 | tracking | 4s | Sophie walks to the back hallway | no | Kling |
| 10 | insert | 4s | Her phone: the text from Dad | no | Wan |
| 11 | over-the-shoulder | 5s | Through the kitchen door window: Ethan laughing on the phone | no | Kling |
| 12 | close-up | 3s | Sophie: "Friday." | yes | Seedance |
Make these reference images first. A reference image is a picture you give the model so it keeps copying the same look.
- Sophie in two looks with one face: the yellow uniform with a messy bun, and a later boardroom look. Viewers have to believe it's the same woman, and that Ethan wouldn't notice under dim gala light.
- Ethan's camel overcoat. He wears it in the diner even while he eats, and that tells you who he is.
- The diner counter, the booths and the round kitchen-door window as three 9:16 images.
- Phone texts and the laptop screen as still images you lay over the footage in your editor.
